UAW Mobilizes for Future of American Auto Manufacturing

The comparison between the good rate of pay, benefits, and other perks of employment enjoyed by unionized workers in the North compared with workers in the South is shocking. Bob King, President of the United Auto Workers discusses their campaign and describes the resistance they face from Nissan. Efforts to pressure Nissan to accept unionization is also facing global pressure as workers around the world demand that Nissan respect the worker’s right to organize. Brian Schneck, President of UAW Local 259, describes how the UAW has successfully organized repair shops at auto dealerships to make sure NY metro area workers receive decent wages and good working conditions.
