Battling Income Inequality – Physical Therapy

Income Inequality has grown at a rapid pace and shows no signs of stopping. The NYS-AFL-CIO’s campaign “Making New York Work” advocates policies that support workers first, to spur economic development.  Then, we learn how physical therapy can help workers recover from injuries and get back on the job after a debilitating injury.

Mario Cilento, President of New York State AFL-CIO describes the “Making New York Work” campaign approach to  tackling income inequality. He argues that  New York States economic development ambitions can only succeed if our State’s policies also take into account worker needs rather than merely protecting financial interests.

Physical Therapy

Dr. Attilio Pensavalle, a Long Island based Physical Therapist discusses why physical therapy is so important to speed recovery from major and minor  injuries and describes how the therapy works.  He also addresses both the curative and preventative roles of physical therapy in treating older patients.
